Work day Saturday 2rd March at the club If anyone got the following it would very much appreciated To finish off a few jobs
Puting thing back on the walls
A big thank you to Lee for organising the work day and pulling people together to help out. About 20 members turned out to help. Completing a number of tasks, treating the facia boards at both ends of the roof, painting the big room upstairs, the kitchen and the hall way. Also the work needed with the water tank was completed. There is still some tidying to be done, and the weights may be out of action for a couple of weeks while we get straight again. Thanks to all who helped.
The Banff Mountain Film Festival is back in Tunbridge Wells in a couple of weeks (March 9th) - the best adventure films you'll see all year! It's a fantastic evening (or matinee) with loads of great people - enjoy the trailer, and get your tickets here!
By the time you get to the pool session tomorrow (but after you've helped at the work day), the Welsh will have lost to the English in this year's Six Nations rugby.
It's our AGM in a few weeks, and one of the things we need to do is to elect new committee members. All committee posts are up for re-election, so if you would like to stand as Chairman, Secretary, Membership Secretary, Treasurer, Welfare Officer, or just as a general helper, then please tell the secretary! (Closing date Feb 22nd)
The Club only functions because of the committee - they ensure the bills get paid, boats get repaired, the smoke alarm is working and that the showers have hot water. Come and help!
PS - we've had people step forward for most of the posts (but you can stand too), but the post of Welfare Officer is currently vacant. This is an extremely important part of the Club - full training will be given - so please do consider volunteering to help.
If you'd like to come on the easier WW trip (grade 2/3 rivers, plenty of support available) then please let me know in the next few days as I need to pay for the bunkhouse. If you're not already on the email@example.com mailing list then sign up now!
Our Club needs a bit of TLC to keep it looking it's best! Please come down next Saturday (23rd February) and help - tidying, cleaning, painting, and other general bits & bobs. We'll be here all day (9am - 3pm), so please drop in for an hour or two during the day to help. Many hands make light work and all that!
If you're able to spend a few hours giving something back to the Club, please stand as a committee member! Please contact Michaela (Secretary) to stand. We do need more people!
