Just in case you missed some of the things that have been happening at the Club this month, here's a round-up of the photos that people have uploaded to the website. First up, Geoff paddles for the Queen, plus video coverage. The Maidstone Marathon was a huge success, with good results for several club paddlers. The whitewater trip to the Washburn was superb (photos courtesy of Dawn & Tom), Kent Canoes brought along some boats for the Demo Day, and finally, glorious weather for the Estuary Barbecue & Camp, photos from Geoff & Steve. If you've been out paddling this month, let us know!
Seapoint, in Hythe, are running a number of very reasonably-priced training, sea journey and assessment days this year. Take a look at their upcoming events here.
The Olympic Torch will proceed down the Medway on Friday 20th July, at about 7 a.m., aboard a Royal Barge.
There will also be a Maidstone Mile Swim on the same day at 7 p.m.
Please see the Notice to Mariners, below, for advice on river access from the Medway Navigation team.

On Sunday during a game of polo one of our new members, Joshua, received a nasty injury to a finger nail when it was caught between two boats, his nail was mostly off. Steve Chinn and others did some first aid and he was taken to hospital by his Mum. He had an operation to reattach his nail and, thankfully, is now fine, his parents Richard and Liz would like to say thanks to all who helped him.
It is the Maidstone Marathon on Sunday, please come along and support if you can - any extra help on the day would be much appreciated.
Note this means there will be no General Paddle this Sunday, 17th June!
Fun Sessions are an important part of what the Club does, both for the local community, and for generating income for the Club. They're rewarding and fun to do - a great day on the water, helping people (often kids) enjoy canoeing for the first time. We still need helpers to assist at the following sessions:
Tuesday 12th June, 6:30pm - Scouts
Monday 18th June, 6:30pm - Scouts
Tuesday 19th June, 6:30pm - Scouts
If you can, please do help. It's not onerous, and it is a good evening out on the water! Please contact email@example.com.
