The beginner courses are over for another year. Congratulations to everyone who completed their beginner courses this season. And of course a massive "thank you" to all those Club members who helped make them a success - whether coaching on the water, helping to fit boats and paddles, repairing kayaks, or just being a friendly face for a nervous newcomer!
Don't forget there's a rowing race this Sunday (23rd) and so there will be no regular paddle at the Club. There are a couple of other trips running, so come along and broaden your paddling horizons!
Lots going on at the Club last weekend - trips to both the Wye and North Wales, as well as all the usual stuff! If you missed those, there's plenty coming up in the next week or so - paddles on the Medway Estuary, River Stour, and tidal Cuckmere - so take advantage of the good weather and get in touch with the organisers to get booked in!
PS - no regular paddle next weekend due to rowing, don't forget!
This Saturday's River Stour Trip has been postponed until September 29th. Please see calendar for new details.
Please contact Annie if you'd like to come on this trip, and particularly if you can help transport boats for newer members.
... (and five days) ago, tomorrow, William Wordsworth was composing his famous poem "Composed upon Westminster Bridge, September 3, 1802". While he was a fair poet, it seems he absolutely sucked at thinking up names for them. Come to Larkfield Leisure Centre, for our August Pool Session (and Poetry Appreciation Club) You'll be glad you did!

Saturday 6th October, Introduction to Moving Water - a day building confidence and having fun while trying to learning some of the techniques on moving water, utilising the weirs and canoe shoots on the river Medway.
We will start at the club at 9am to pick up kit, then head to Teston. In the afternoon we will move up to Yalding where we will hopefully find some different flows.
Please book a place by contacting Mary Cutts
We've got a few spaces left on a beginner course this year - so if you fancy spending some time on the river with us then get in quick!
Incredibly, I've managed to get the newsletter out on time this quarter - perhaps even a little early! If it's not already in your inbox, you can read it here!
