#shepaddles funding

In support of the #shepaddles movement, the Club has access to funding from British Canoeing to assist female paddlers training to become leaders and coaches.  If you've considered becoming a Paddlesport Instructor, a Coach, or Leader, then please come and talk to Catherine D (or anyone on the committee).  The funding is there - we just need you!

Example qualifications for which full training costs can be covered include:

• Paddlesport Instructor
• Sheltered Water Coach
• Touring Leader
• Sea Kayak Coach
• Whitewater Leader
• SUP Coach
• Canoe Leader

Adventure Paddling Evening

Renowned adventurers Jordan Wylie (author, Channel 4s Hunted, etc.) and Michelle Ellison (Thames source to sea, across Britain, etc) are in Kent talking about their paddlesport adventures on 29th November.  Hosted by Hayley & Jo of Paddle Cabin, the talk is in a treehouse(!) in Penshurst.  It should be a fun evening!  Tickets & more info here

Intro to WW!

A huge thank-you to Bala Canoe Club who hosted us for this year's Intro to WW, and to Mary C & Paul F for adding immensely to the coaching.  A pretty full-on couple of days, with everyone who paddled making enormous improvements over the weekend, culminating in a successful descent of the Dee on the Sunday.  Congratulations all!  (Photos courtesy of Mary C & Richard R)
