Marathon Racing
Our Marathon Racing team compete in the Hasler series of interclub races against some of the strongest marathon racing clubs in the UK and have succeeded in getting to the National finals for the last three years. Members also compete in interclub sprint races at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont Nottingham. The team now have some very promising younger members with one in particular representing the UK at Marathon World Cup events.

The Club has had considerable success in the annual Devises to Westminster (DW), a gruelling 125 mile race in which the club won the team trophy and a K2 first place in 1990 and the team trophy again in 1998. One of our members has completed this race more than 17 times. The training is hard and takes place over the winter months so considerable dedication is needed by those who compete in this event. Another annual event has been the Exe decent but there was no race in 2007 due to access problems and this race has not taken place since - a sad loss.
The Maidstone Marathon will be held on Sunday 19th June 2011 ~
