Club Diary

The whole year can be viewed on the Calendar 2010 link above

Wednesday evenings are still going for those in plastic boats - of course it will be dark and may be cold but if you have the right gear it is no problem. If you can bring a glow stick along to put at the back of you it will help other river users to see you but not many rowers go out in the dark. Best not to use a torch as this can impair people's night vision, there is enough light to see where you are going.

Sunday Paddles: During the winter months the River Medway is more likely to be in flood conditions and when this occurs the club members who paddle plastic kayaks are very likely to go by car up to Teston or Yalding and paddle back to the club. These conditions are not suitable for beginners so we may have to disappoint those who turn up for a come and try. If you are a parent bringing a youngster to the club please check if it is ok to leave your son or daughter before driving off, thanks.

*Due to the popularity of the Sunday sessions for beginners club members have been hard pressed to ensure an orderly and safe launch onto the water. In future no club boats will be allowed out before 9:00am on a Sunday morning. We ask all those who come along to please be patient and wait until there enough experienced paddler in attendance before going to the slipway. Thanks
