Whilst there is no formal programme of coaching within the club there is informal and formal coaching and training available in both general paddling and racing to assist  new and existing club members to develop their skills.

For those who want to measure their progress the BCU Paddlepower (for juniors) and Star Awards are the way to go. These awards are an essential requirement for anybody wanting to get qualified as a coach, please look at the BCU website for more details.

Courses and assessment for Star Awards (1 star and 2 star) are run thoughout the year, normally at weekends, by Lee Horton and these are notified on the website Calendar and Diary pages and on the Courses page in the Club Area of the website.
