There is no programme of formal coaching within the club, however, plenty of informal coaching and assistance is given to new paddlers to help them develop their skills. The club's coaches may also be willing to give individual or collective training if asked and to carry out assessments for paddling awards. For those who want to measure their progress the BCU Paddlepower (for juniors) and Star Awards are the way to go. These awards are an essential requirement for anybody wanting to get qualified as a coach, please look at the BCU website for more details.
