Sea Kayaking and Wild Camping

Several members of the club have been going to the Western Isles of Scotland for many years to enjoy a week of sea kayaking and wild camping. We would like to introduce other club members to this and share our experience and expertise.

If you think you might be interested here are a few pointers:

If you enjoy wall to wall scenery, white sandy beaches, turquoise seas and the chance to see: Seals (every trip), Dolphins & Whales (occasionally), Eagles (rarely), Otters (also rarely) and a myriad of Sea Birds then this is for you.

If you need a shower every day, can't stand midges, don't like camping and would miss the TV then it is probably not for you.

Sometimes we have to cancel trips at the very last moment because the weather is not favourable (basically too windy).

We will be organising some local sea trips over the next year strictly for touring kayaks. If you are serious about taking up sea touring and wild camping then you will need a fully fledged sea touring kayak capable of carrying camping equipment, clothes and food enough for a few days.

If you would like to give it a try please let me know.
