The very best of luck to all our DW competitors this weekend - Paul & Bryn, Aaron Jordan, Mary Parry and Tim Ives. They've trained hard, and we all hope luck is on their side! You can follow their progress at http://www.dwrace.org.uk/. A huge thank-you also to all the support crews who will be providing fluids, sustenance and support during the race.

The Washburn is a dam release river in North Yorkshire, near Harrogate, and will be releasing on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th June. It is a great little grade 2/3 river and worth the drive for the guaranteed water. If you haven't been before, have a look at the video on this link: https://www.britishcanoeing.org.uk/regions/yorkshire/yorkshires-regional-development-team/washburn/ Bill and I are planning to go up for the weekend and I have found a campsite to stay on. They accept groups but we would need to book in advance. It is ideally located, overlooking the reservoir which releases into the Washburn. https://www.breaksfoldfarm.co.uk/camping Camping is £8 per person per night Washburn access is £10 per person per day (with a BCU card - if you forget it you will have to pay an extra £5 a day!) There will be food for sale at the Washburn and a shuttle. The shuttle is an experience in itself - possibly Grade 5! If you are not sure whether this is for you, please ask. Many of the white water paddlers have paddled there previously or email me. Niki
