So, our Youth Rep, Reece, has dragged us kicking & screaming into 2017 by getting us on Instagram. Check it out, follow us, and tag us with #maidstonecanoeclub. (We're still on old-school social media sites Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube). Thanks Reece!
We've had some last-minute availability open up on our 1-day intensive beginner course tomorrow - please sign up here if you'd like to come and paddle with us! These are likely to be the final weekend spaces in 2017.
Tomorrow is Women's Equality Day in the USA, commemorating the date in 1920 when women got the vote. In the UK, women got the vote in 1918 (*). Celebrate your female paddling heroes at the pool session tomorrow!
(*) as long as they weren't poor. Or too young. Obvs.
It's that time again! The newsletter is just around the corner (actually, it was just around the corner last week, but I'm running a little behind ...)
I know you've all been out paddling over the warmer months, and the rest of the Club would love to hear about it! Please send articles, trip reports, gear reviews, poems, comic songs and anything else to me in the next few days - the newsletter only works because of you guys!
There's a rumour that the farmer at Joss Bay is offering parking on his field for £5 / day (as opposed to £4 for the first hour in the main car park). This is unconfirmed, but might be worth investigating when you go to the Joss Bay Barbecue this weekend!
